Michael is currently a tutor at the School of Leadership and Theology. He has been in active Christian ministry for 14 years, including planting and leading youth groups, as well as leading on various church pastoral and preaching teams. He has a background in theology, evangelism and apologetics, having served as an itinerant speaker for four years across the UK and Africa before moving to central London in 2020 to lead a Vineyard church community with his wife, Julia.
Michael holds a first-class bachelors degree in English Literature and Classical Studies from the University of Cape Town and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from UNISA. He completed his apologetics training through the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (theocca.org), his post-graduate qualification in Theology at the University of Oxford and a Masters in Theology, Ministry and Mission (Biblical Studies) with distinction through Durham University.
Michael’s areas of interest/ specialization include biblical studies, New Testament, philosophical theology, preaching and cultural apologetics.
Michael is married to Julia and has one son, Joseph. He and his family reside in Cape Town, South Africa. He enjoys running in the forests and mountains of Cape Town, and braais with family and friends.
